Charitable donations

Charity donations are an increasingly popular way to remember a loved one’s life. Many families now choose to nominate a charity for donations as well as, or instead of, flowers at the funeral.

The charity can be announced as part of the funeral proceedings and also published in the newspaper funeral announcement.

Turnbulls can advise on choosing a charity for donations and we can help you with the necessary set-up arrangements.

We can organise a sealed box at the funeral service for the collection of the donations. The money can be returned to you or forwarded to the chosen charity on your behalf.

For greater ease, why not set up an on-line charity donation link in memory of the deceased? We can include this link on our Turnbulls website for ultimate simplicity.

Testimonials

Dear Sharon,

I just wanted to thank you for all your help organising mum’s funeral.  You were absolutely wonderful how you just took over, and dealt with everything that needed to be done.  Allaying all my worries and concerns at a very stressful and sad time.  Especially as we needed to get mum home from Surrey to North Shields. With your support we were able to celebrate the life of a beautiful person and give her what she wished for.

I am eternally grateful to you.

A HUGE thank you and best wishes.

Poem

Because I have loved life, I shall have no sorrow to die. I have sent up my gladness on wings, to be lost in the blue of the sky. I have run and leaped with the rain, I have taken the wind to my breast. My cheeks like a drowsy child to the face of the earth I have pressed. Because I have loved life, I shall have no sorrow to die.

– Amelia Burr, American poet (1878 – 1968) –
